MEMBERS' WORK

Welcome to our second edition of ‘The Write Way’, a collection of work by members of Crawley Writers Circle.
This has been a poignant year, with the sad loss of our loved and respected Honorary President and Secretary, Beryl Armstrong, a leading light and tireless supporter of Crawley Writers Circle for many years, and to whom this book is respectfully dedicated.
I first met Beryl when I joined Crawley Writers Circle.
At that time, the monthly meetings were held in Beryl and Peter’s home.  They made us very welcome and the meetings were well attended.
The last meeting before Christmas particularly, was always busy, though whether this was the festive atmosphere or the delicious mince pies Beryl used to make to go with our tea, I’m not sure. 
Beryl was a talented and creative lady.  When I joined the Circle, she had already been writing for many years and their home showcased both her books and her beautiful dolls houses, which were exquisitely constructed and detailed. 
During my last conversation with her, Beryl told me how delighted she was that the Writers Circle she had helped to create had found a new home in Crawley Museum.  Her presence at the meetings will be very much missed.
2019 has seen the Writers Circle move to a new home in Crawley Museum.  Do please come and join us, new members are warmly welcomed.               Christine Bryant
