WHAT'S ON

We usually meet at Crawley Museum, in the Arthur Earl room.

​Our next  meetings are on 

Wednesday 19th March

at Crawley Museum 

The themes for this month are a reflection on Crawley, 1959 ( the museum current exhibition) trees, spring and museum.

Writing on other themes is also welcome.

All meetings 10am-12 noon.

The next meeting at Crawley Museum will be on Wednesday 16th April with an additional meeting at Starbuck's on Wednesday 30th April.

We have a number of  events as part of Crawley WORDfest 2025! 

Music, Prose and Poetry with Ensemble Reza, Ifield Barn Theatre. Tuesday 25th March.

From March 2025 Crawley Writers Circle are planning to create a book full of stories from Crawley people, about life in Crawley past and present.

We would love to hear your stories we believe that everyone has a story to tell and we would like to celebrate this.

Please email your story to crawleywriterscircle@gmail.com, stating that you would like it to be included in the oral history book.

History book Submission Guidelines and Terms and Conditions

  1. The book is an opportunity to tell your stories about your life and experiences in Crawley but not your whole life history.

  2. The book will be organised by decade.

  3. Recommended length is 500-1,500 words

  4. The deadline for receiving poems will be 31st March 2025

  5. All work must be family friendly to be accepted.

  6. Authors must have some connection to Crawley.

  7. Authors can write items for more than one section.

  8. No remuneration will be offered as this is a community project.

  9. Authors are welcome to offer their photos display with their work. (there is at this point no guarantee that they will be used)

  10. Should you wish to use AI please state that this is the case.

  11. Copyright remains with the author.
