RAIN

I was asked to write a piece on rain
I wracked my brain again and again but nothing came
Come on girl rein in your thoughts
A monologue a poem short should satisfy this humble task
I thought and thought and then at last…
Perhaps the summer heat has finally reduced your brain complete
Start again and concentrate you must not admit defeat
This empty void looms out of me
No summer sun to comfort me
Just falling rain abounds today
I’m sorry folks but rain stopped play.
